MIM || Knitting squares
2 January 2011
I started to collect a series of knitting books a while ago. Retailers in South Africa now have the crochet version on sale, but the main project of the series was a knitted square afghan.
I had stopped collecting the series after a while, but continued to knit my own squares. During my holiday I managed to knit twelve of them - yes, I admit, I'm a slow knitter!
The main problem I had was the different patterns of the squares, because after a while they all started to look the same. I found Vogue Knitting's Stitchionary very useful, and had fun co-ordinating the squares so they all look different!
Anyway, the afghan is now the perfect size for a lap blanket, but I'm not sure if I should continue knitting squares and make it into a larger blanket? What do you think?
